On September 23, the National Innovation Center for Third Generation Semiconductor Technology (hereinafter referred to as the National Innovation Center) held the first meeting of its first council in Beijing, marking the formal entry of the National Innovation Center into the actual operation stage. The relevant leaders from the Ministry of Science and Technology, the responsible comrades from Beijing, Shanxi, Hunan, Jiangsu, Shenzhen and other local governments, and the main responsible comrades from China Electronics Technology Group Corporation (hereinafter referred to as CEC) attended the meeting.

The meeting deliberated on the Statute of the Board of Directors, the Construction and Operation Plan, the Work Focus and Objectives for 2022, the Action Plan of the Third Generation Semiconductor Leapfrog Project (Draft Proposal), considered and approved the first Chairman, Vice Chairman and Directors, the Director and Members of the Expert Committee, and the Director of the National Innovation Center, and listened to the report on the preliminary work of the National Innovation Center.

The National Innovation Center, approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology, aims at targeting national strategic needs, coordinating the national strengths, focusing on key core technologies and major application directions of third-generation semiconductors, promoting the effective synergy of various related innovation bodies and innovation factors, outputting high-quality scientific and technological innovation results, cultivating new momentum for development, and promoting the overall leap in innovation capability of China's third-generation semiconductor industry.

Under the guidance of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the National Innovation Center was established by CEC in consultation with relevant provinces and municipalities according to the construction ideas of "integrated planning, multi-location distribution, synergistic linkage innovation" and "stock drives increment", and is located in Shenzhen, Nanjing, Suzhou, Hunan, Shanxi and Beijing. Under the guidance of the Ministry of Science and Technology, CEC has set up six regional centers in Shenzhen, Nanjing, Suzhou, Hunan, Shanxi and Beijing, effectively linking government support and enterprise demand, uniting with leading enterprises in the industry and collaborating with more than 50 research institutions nationwide, and initially forming an innovation pattern of "core + base + network". At present, it has gathered several academician teams in the field of third-generation semiconductors, more than 50 leading talents in the industry, and formed a full-time team of more than 500 people, focusing on the weak links of the industry chain, and has achieved phased progress and results.

The meeting was held in the form of "live + video". The person in charge of relevant departments in Beijing, Shanxi, Jiangsu, Hunan, Shenzhen, Nanjing and Suzhou, and the person in charge of relevant construction units of National Innovation Center attended the meeting.
